Weekly photo contest: Flowers!

For a lot of folks spring is finally here and that means green grass and flowers finally in bloom. There’s nothing like seeing the light at the end of the wintery tunnel to put you in a good mood. That also means it’s a great time to get outside, breathe in the fresh air, and take in the changes around you. Your challenge this week is flowers. Like last week, it’s a great opportunity to get out there and grab some macro shots if you’ve got accessories such as an Olloclip!

The contest begins today and ends Tuesday, May 6th at 6 p.m. Eastern time. Good luck!

It’s also time to announce the winner of our last photo contest! And the winner is…

Anywhere from 60 to 100 times every minute of every day of every year of your (hopefully) long life, your heart beats. Unlike the other muscles in your body, however, your heart almost never gets tired . . . until it stops for good. Here’s why.

A Brief History of Easter Eggs in Tech

The Easter egg—as in a hidden surprise or in-joke, not the chocolate treat—can be dated back to the last Russian imperial family who gifted people with jewel-encrusted Fabergé eggs containing additional surprises tucked away inside.

Vets miraculously save life of lioness who got mauled by buffalo

Siena is a lioness who recently got severely mauled by a buffalo. It’s so bad that looking at her standing up with her leg almost ripped off her body looks like a surreal scene from a zombie movie. Happily, the vets rushed to save her life so she could take care of her cubs. WARNING: VERY STRONG IMAGES.

RealPlayer Cloud wants to be your go-to app for watching, storing, and sharing video

RealPlayer Cloud is a new way to store, find, and share videos. Rather than simply holding videos like a service such as Dropbox might, video is the singular focus of RealPlayer Cloud, and it plays multiple formats on desktops and mobile devices.

Once you upload a video to RealPlayer Cloud, you can view it anywhere. The universal app for iOS devices has sections for recent videos, your videos, collections, sharing, and web videos. You can share video through email, Messages, Facebook, and Twitter. To share, hit the share button in the top right corner of a section, tap Share, then select your desired videos, tap the button at the bottom of the screen, and pick your service of choice. You can also share them directly with another device if is compatible with RealPlayer.

The menu screen, accessed by tapping the hamburger menu in the top left corner, helps you manage your account. You can take and upload a video by tapping the camera button, sign in and out of your account, visit the app settings, and see how much space you have. Settings lets you control your network settings, background upload, and device sharing along with video quality. Free Realplayer cloud accounts have 2GB of space, but if you need more, you can upgrade to RealPlayer Cloud 25, which gives you 25GB of video storage for $49.99 per year.

If you share a lot of videos, you might consider giving RealPlayer Cloud a shot.
